ANKARA – Turkish Daily News
The Ankara Art Gallery will behosting a solo exhibition of the talented ceramics artist Zati Erbaş from Feb. 1-26.
Erbaş, for this, his fourth solo offering at the art gallery, has made many hand-sculpted bird statuettes, some of which are so small that Erbaş needed to use needles to sculpt them.
After shaping the birds, Erbaş cooks the pieces at high temperatures and the earthenware birds turn different shades of brown.
Erbaş, a self-trained artist, started making ceramics in 1999 and since then has focused his efforts on the creation of detailed bird figures. He initially started with statuettes, but since 2000 he has expanded his offerings into the creation of accessories.
Ceramic artist Zati Erbaş’s extraordinary designs can be viewed at the Ankara Art Gallery on Cinnah Cad., Gelibolu Sok. No: 3/2 Kavaklıdere.
